I think it would be good to test increasing the gold cost of their military units, maybe around 33% (40, 48, 56, etc.). I do think that Ox and Kraken could probably use a slight nerf as they're really dominating the current meta, particularly Ox.įor Ox, their warriors are just so much stronger than other clans, so they are able to make a much stronger army for the same gold cost. The lower tier clans on this list all have their place in team games and do quite well there. Overall, I think most clans are fairly balanced. I really don't recommend playing Snake in FFA. Snake's optimal playstyle in FFA is basically to pretend they're a vanilla clan, which is a really bad sign. If you're going to harass your neighbours, you're just putting both of you behind while the other side of the map gets to build their economy. Snake's harass style is very helpful in team games and duels, but it's actually counterproductive in FFA, which makes them the worst FFA clan by a good margin. I also want to plug a post I made last week on Ratatoskr's Glory, which if reworked to be achievable in FFA could make them a viable and interesting clan in FFA. But unfortunately they both struggle to convert this economy into a victory. Their specialty is economy, and they do it very well. Support clans with no teammates to support. Although I may be underestimating Lynx as I'm not very familiar with them. They're decent at fighting, but not as good as Dragon or Bear in lategame. But in FFA, you control much less neutral space, which hurts the effectiveness of these clans. Trade is the fastest of the alternate win conditions, so if you can get 3+ harbours going (preferably 4-5) and a good choke point to defend yourself, you can sometimes pull out a sneaky win.īoth of these clans specialise in clearing neutral tiles, which makes them invaluable in team games. But if the map RNG is in your favour, it can be really hard to stop. It's risky and paints a target on your back, so more often than not you'll fail. Raven is probably the hottest take of this tier list, but I really rate Raven trade as a FFA strategy. Both specialise in late game fights, but have each seen nerfs in the past year that mean they're actually balanced and not overpowered. Dragon and Bear are basically budget S tier clans. not Domination) once about half the teams have been eliminated.ī tier is what I consider the last of the "good" clans for FFA. While lategame fights are a huge part of FFA, it is quite common for the game to end in an alternate win condition (ie. Boar and Stag are also very good at going for alternate win conditions. Ox warriors are so much more powerful than any other clans that you can't fight them past 803, and Kraken gets free warband and cheaper units.Īll three of these clans have amazing early game economy, and if they get ahead can be hard to stop. This is just my opinion, let me know what you think!įFA is often decided by lategame fights, and Ox and Kraken are miles ahead of all other clans in this area. I've been playing FFA quite a lot over the past couple months, and thought I'd make a tier list. Steam News Twitter Facebook Instagram Store.
